Connect a supported GameCube, Nintendo 64 or SNES to HDMI with Hyperkin's 7-foot HDTV cable and 720p output. A 4:3 or 16:9 switch lets you choose the display shape. It requires S-Video output from the console and a separate 5V 1A USB power source; compatibility exclusions apply.

Hyperkin 3-in-1 HDTV Cable for GameCube / N64 / SNES: branded hero

One HDMI route for supported Nintendo systems

This Hyperkin cable gives compatible GameCube, Nintendo 64 and Super NES systems an HDMI connection to a modern television. It outputs a 720p signal and carries stereo audio through the same HDMI connection, with a seven-foot cable length for positioning the console. The built-in aspect switch offers 4:3 or 16:9 output. Choosing 4:3 can suit games designed around older televisions, while the wider setting changes the display shape. Conversion does not create new detail in the original game's graphics.

Hyperkin 3-in-1 HDTV Cable for GameCube / N64 / SNES: detail study

The console must provide the right signal

Compatibility depends on the console providing the S-Video signal this cable requires. The manufacturer warns that some PAL consoles will not work and specifically identifies PAL GameCube and SNES Jr. models as exclusions. A familiar Nintendo multi-out connector is therefore not sufficient evidence of compatibility. Confirm the exact console model and region before ordering, especially for imported or modified hardware. This limitation should be settled first, because no television setting or included USB cable can supply a missing source video signal.

Provide USB power before expecting a picture

The converter draws power through its Micro USB port. A Micro USB cable is included, but the manufacturer does not include the wall power adapter. You need a suitable 5V 1A USB power source, such as a compatible phone charger, in addition to the console's own power supply. Plan an available power connection near the television before installing the cable. Then select the appropriate HDMI input and desired aspect ratio, following the manufacturer instructions for the supported console you are connecting.

Questions about this product

Will it work with a PAL GameCube?

No. The manufacturer identifies PAL GameCube as incompatible because it lacks the S-Video output required by this cable.

Does the package include a USB power adapter?

No. A Micro USB cable is included, but you must provide a suitable 5V 1A USB power source separately.

Does it make every Nintendo game native 720p?

It outputs a converted 720p HDMI signal. It does not change the original game rendering or add source detail that was not present.
