FLUDD changes how Mario moves
Super Mario Sunshine pairs Mario’s jumps, dives, wall kicks, and spins with the Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device. The Squirt Nozzle cleans goop and exposes secrets; Hover helps cross gaps; Rocket launches Mario upward; Turbo drives him across ground and water. Nozzle access changes by stage, so movement challenges continually ask for a different combination of water control and platforming.
A connected tropical island
Delfino Plaza acts as the hub for beaches, a harbor, a hotel, an amusement park, and other themed areas. Episodes reshape objectives within each location, while Shine Sprites, Blue Coins, and hidden challenges reward close exploration. Secret courses temporarily remove FLUDD and place the emphasis back on Mario’s unaided movement, creating a sharper contrast with the water-assisted stages.
GameCube Sunshine, not the Switch collection
This pre-owned loose disc is the original Nintendo GameCube release. It uses a compatible GameCube controller, including analog trigger input for FLUDD, and stores progress on a GameCube memory card. Super Mario 3D All-Stars on Switch contains a later release of Sunshine, but ownership of this GameCube disc does not grant or imply Switch compatibility.
