Full-size control with a classic foundation
The Pro 2 keeps 8BitDo’s prominent D-pad and symmetrical stick layout, then adds extended grips for longer sessions. Its dual sticks, linear triggers, and two rear paddle buttons cover modern 3D games without pushing classic platformers and fighters to the side. A four-way mode switch changes between Switch, X-input, D-input, and Android modes, making the controller practical for a library spread across several devices.
Hall Effect sticks and controls that adapt
This Hall Effect edition uses magnetic stick sensing and supports detailed setup through 8BitDo Ultimate Software. Button mapping, stick and trigger sensitivity, vibration strength, and macros can be adjusted on supported devices. Three custom profiles can be stored and selected from the controller, so a racing setup, a platforming layout, and a general profile do not need to overwrite one another.
Bluetooth or USB-C, with a replaceable battery pack
Bluetooth handles wireless play on supported Switch, Windows, SteamOS, Android, Apple, and Raspberry Pi systems; USB-C provides a wired option. The rechargeable 1000mAh battery is rated by 8BitDo for about 20 hours of play after a four-hour charge and can be removed rather than being sealed into the shell. Switch mode also supports motion control, though the controller does not provide HD Rumble or amiibo scanning.
