Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy
Sonic Advance lets you pick from four characters, and each one handles the zones differently. Sonic is the fastest, Tails flies over tricky gaps, Knuckles glides and climbs walls, and Amy, once unlocked, swings her Piko Piko Hammer instead of spin-jumping. The zones start at Neo Green Hill and run through Secret Base, Casino Paradise, Ice Mountain, Angel Island, Egg Rocket and Cosmic Angel, with Dr. Eggman waiting at the end of each one. Special stages hold the seven Chaos Emeralds for players who hunt them down.
Tiny Chao Garden and link play
Sonic Advance includes the Tiny Chao Garden, where you raise a Chao using rings earned in the main game and play small minigames for more. With a GameCube, a GameCube to Game Boy Advance cable and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle or Sonic Adventure DX, you can move a Chao between the handheld and the GameCube game. Multiplayer supports up to four players over Game Link Cables, and some modes work with a single cartridge. It was developed by Dimps with Sonic Team, the pairing behind the later Advance sequels.

Sonic Advance saves to the cartridge, and any progress left by a previous owner is not part of the listing.
