A compact Zelda mystery on Koholint Island
Link awakens far from Hyrule on an island where animals speak, strange characters appear, and the Wind Fish sleeps inside a mountain egg. The overworld folds beaches, forests, villages, caves, and mountains into a tightly connected map. New items repeatedly reveal shortcuts and hidden spaces, so progress comes from remembering blocked routes as much as completing the next dungeon.
Classic dungeon design in a miniature visual world
The remake preserves the Game Boy adventure's top-down rooms, side-view passages, puzzle sequence, and unusual crossover characters while rebuilding everything with a toy-like diorama presentation. Sword combat stays direct, and frequently used items receive dedicated buttons that reduce menu switching. Heart Pieces, Secret Seashells, trading steps, and optional discoveries give the small island more to uncover beyond its eight main instruments.
Chamber Dungeons add a new use for completed rooms
After clearing dungeons, earned chambers can be arranged into custom layouts under Dampé's rules. The mode is a puzzle about connecting entrances, locked doors, treasure, and a final route rather than a free-form level editor. Link's Awakening comes on a US physical Switch game card for television, tabletop, or handheld play. It pairs the complete Koholint adventure with the added chamber-building activity.
