Buttons that read how hard you press
The DualShock 2 looks almost the same as the PS1 DualShock, but nearly every button is pressure sensitive. The face buttons, D-pad directions and the four shoulder buttons can report how hard they are pressed, and some games put that to use. Racing games such as Gran Turismo 3 read throttle and brake pressure from the face buttons, and Metal Gear Solid 2 treats light and firm presses differently. The two analog sticks click in as L3 and R3, and the Analog button switches modes for older PS1 games.
Where it fits in a PS2 setup
Every PlayStation 2 has two controller ports, and the DualShock 2 plugs into either one.
