Melee battles take place on stages with platforms, edges, hazards, and changing layouts. Damage raises a fighter’s percentage rather than draining a conventional life bar; stronger hits then launch that fighter farther. Shielding, grabbing, dodging, aerial movement, recovery, and edge control give each matchup its shape, whether items are active for party play or reduced for more focused competition.
More than a multiplayer versus screen
Classic mode presents a sequence of fights and bonus stages, Adventure mode connects themed encounters, and Event Matches set specific challenges with fixed conditions. Stadium activities test targets, distance, and survival. Trophies reward continued play with models and descriptions drawn from Nintendo history, giving solo players a long-running collection alongside character and stage unlocks.
