Max, Monica and a broken future
Max is a young inventor from the town of Palm Brinks who crosses paths with Monica, a princess from 100 years in the future. Emperor Griffon has been erasing history to rewrite the future, and the two of them travel through time with the help of Origin Stones to repair it. Max fights with a wrench and a gun and later builds and pilots the Ridepod, a customizable robot. Monica swings swords, casts elemental attacks through her armband and uses a Monster Badge to take on the form of enemies.
Georama, inventions and Spheda
Much of the game happens outside combat. With Georama, you rebuild ruined areas in the present using parts and residents, which changes the future Monica comes from. Max's camera snaps photos of objects, and combining photos creates ideas for new inventions. Weapons grow stronger through synthesis, where you absorb items and break old weapons down into Synth Spheres. Between dungeons you can fish, race fish in Finny Frenzy, and play Spheda, a golf-like game played on dungeon floors to fix distortions in time.
What to check on a used Dark Cloud 2 disc
Dark Cloud 2 is a long game with frequent loading, so disc condition matters. Hold it at an angle under light and look for deep rings or scratches that follow the circle of the disc. Check for cracks around the center hole. The game saves to a PS2 memory card, which you supply unless the listing title names one. The case and manual also come only if the title says so.
