One kart, two distinct jobs
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! puts two characters in each kart. The front racer drives while the rear racer holds and throws items, and the pair can swap positions during a race. Character choice affects access to special items, while the kart determines weight and performance. That makes selecting a team a real tactical decision rather than a cosmetic choice.
Race cups, chase times, or fill the couch
Grand Prix organizes the Mushroom, Flower, Star, and Special Cups across escalating engine classes. Time Trials strip away opponents for cleaner lap practice, while Versus and Battle support local multiplayer. Two players can also share one kart in cooperative play, dividing steering and item duties, a mode that remains specific to Double Dash within the main Mario Kart series.
The original GameCube disc edition
This is the pre-owned loose GameCube release, not Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or a download for current Nintendo hardware. It runs from a GameCube optical disc and uses compatible GameCube controllers. Cup progress and records use a GameCube memory card. The disc-only category does not add a case, manual, bonus disc, controllers, or a console.
