Plankton's robot problem

THQ released SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom for PlayStation 2 in 2003, developed by Heavy Iron Studios. Plankton builds the Duplicatotron 3000 to make an army of robots, then loses control of it, and the robots overrun Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob sets out to fix the mess, collecting Golden Spatulas to open new areas and shiny objects to pay at toll gates. Along the way he visits Jellyfish Fields, Downtown Bikini Bottom, Goo Lagoon, Rock Bottom, Sand Mountain, Kelp Forest and the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard.

Three playable heroes

SpongeBob is the main character, with a bubble bash, a bubble bowl and a bungee jump from hooks. At bus stops you can switch to Patrick, who picks up and throws objects and can freeze fruit, or to Sandy, who swings her lasso to glide and grab hooks. Each area has spots only one of them can handle, so the game keeps nudging you to swap. Boss fights include Robo-Sandy, Robo-Patrick and Robo-Plankton.
