From Hyda IV to Elicoor II
Fayt Leingod is on vacation at the Hyda IV resort with his family and his childhood friend Sophia when an attack forces everyone to flee. Separated from the others, Fayt ends up on Elicoor II, an underdeveloped planet where the kingdoms of Aquaria and Airyglyph are at war. He joins up with Cliff Fittir, Nel Zelpher and later the swordsman Albel Nox, and slowly learns why so many forces are after him. The story widens far beyond one planet on the second disc.
Fury, MP and item creation
Battles play out in real time on an open field. Light and strong attacks draw from a Fury gauge, so you cannot swing endlessly. Both HP and MP matter, since a character reduced to zero MP is knocked out, which opens up tactics built around draining MP instead of health. Outside battle, item creation lets you hire inventors to make weapons, armor, food and accessories, and many of the strongest items come from there. Battle Trophies reward hundreds of optional challenges.
