Sam Fisher and the Masse Kernels
Ubisoft released Chaos Theory in 2005. It follows Third Echelon agent Sam Fisher as a stolen set of code algorithms, the Masse Kernels, pushes the United States, Japan, China and North Korea toward war. Missions take Sam to a lighthouse in Peru, a bank in Panama, a New York penthouse, the streets of Seoul and a Tokyo bathhouse. Lambert guides him over the radio, and old friend Douglas Shetland of Displace International turns out to be part of the conspiracy.
Light, sound and the combat knife
Stealth runs on two meters. A light meter shows how visible Sam is, and a sound meter compares your noise to the room around you, so a humming machine can cover faster movement. Chaos Theory added a combat knife for close takedowns and interrogations, and the OCP on Sam's pistol briefly knocks out lights and cameras. The split jump, inverted neck break and whistling to lure guards give you plenty of options. A two-player co-op mode adds its own missions.
Disc condition and online modes

Saving needs a PS2 memory card, which is not included unless the title says so. The online versus mode depended on servers that are no longer running, so the single-player story and co-op are the ways to play today.
