Twilight over Hyrule
Link begins as a ranch hand in Ordon Village, until a wall of twilight spreads over Hyrule and turns him into a wolf when he crosses into it. Midna, a sharp-tongued imp from the Twilight Realm, rides on his back and pushes him to restore the light spirits and stop Zant. As Wolf Link you use your senses to track scents and dig, and as Hylian Link you ride Epona, fight on horseback and work through dungeons such as the Forest Temple, Goron Mines, Lakebed Temple and Arbiter's Grounds with tools like the Clawshot, Spinner and Ball and Chain.
What changed in the HD version
Tantalus and Nintendo remade the textures and lighting for high definition and released the game on Wii U in March 2016. The GamePad holds the map and items, so you can swap equipment with a tap instead of pausing, and the new Ghost Lantern glows when a Poe is nearby. Hero Mode is available from the first file and doubles the damage Link takes. The HD version also adds the Cave of Shadows, a challenge dungeon played as Wolf Link that opens only with the Wolf Link amiibo, and other Zelda amiibo can refill arrows or hearts.
